Plot

A black comedy about a young man who gets into the clutches of a possessive old landlady, who harbours a secret plan to turn him into her pet

Production

During the casting period, actor Liam McMahon (Snatch and Hunger) recommended Robin Edwards for the part of Pete. Liam would later take the role of Adrian. The casting of Milred took much longer however, due the fact that the London casting agents put forward actress's who where too young and in most case's too frail looking for the character of Milred the landlady. When Roz McCutcheon's head shot was spotted in the large pile, which had been sent through to the production office, they decided to call in their only hope for an audition. Roz looked even more suitable for the role in person. She impressed both Director, writer and the various production crew, who happened to be there working through pre-production. Mildred was finally cast.

During principal photography Roz McCutcheon auditioned for the role of The Fat Lady in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban directed by Alfonso Cuarón, but the part eventually went to Dawn French.

The film was shot over 3 weekends at various locations in Ealing and Northfield's, west London, close to Ealing Studios.

Release & Festivals

The film was released in 2003 and went on to be screened at various film festivals around Europe.

In 2008 the producers signed a DVD distribution deal (Germany only) with Junge Filmszene. The film was released on the GeradeRaus 2008 DVD label, in late 2008.
